Here are improvements on most factory magazines that come with Sig Sauer P226 Pistols, the Mec-Gar 18 round AFC. Manufacturer is Mec-Gar s.r.l. of Gardone, Italy. Importer and warrantor is Mec-Gar USA of Middletown, CT. Construction is one piece heat treated steel body, with smooth milled, welded back. Spring is high tensile piano grade music wire, with steel inner stop and stud assembly; and with black polymer floorplate and cartridge follower. Body is right side ported on 4 positions for 5, 10, 15, and 18 round count. Finish is teflon based, black semi gloss Mec-Gar AFC, Anti-Friction Coating. Each magazine holds 18 rounds of 9mm caliber ammunition. These magazines will fit any Sig Sauer P226 Pistol, or any Kel-Tec Sub 2000 carbine that is designed for Sig 226 magazines. They will also fit Sig Sauer P228 and P229 pistols in 9mm, but will protrude past the grip frame butt on the smaller pistols. Replacement pricing on mec-gar com is $38.30.
