Here are early, first edition factory manuals for the Springfield Armory 1911A1 Pistols introduced in 1985. These are not dated, but we estimate them to be mid to late 1980s. Manufacturer was Springfield Armory of Geneseo, IL. Dimensions are 5 1/2 by 5 1/2 booklet form, folded and center stapled 4 sheets printed on both sides with black ink. Surface detractions are moderate, faint aging and grease stain but no tears. Owners of Springfield Armory 1911A1 Pistols who simply want instruction manuals can print or download from springfield-armory com, or from a whole host of sources. Owners, however, of early 1980s production 1911A1 Springfields marked USA, or without any Imbel markings on the frame under side forward of the trigger guard that are in excellent condition but without any original factory papers will find that one of these manuals enhances their pistol’s collectability.
