Winchester 1873 Centennial 2 Blade Giant Trapper Knive Bone Handles Excellent Cond
OUR #PK273

Item Description

Winchester authorized only a few of these giant trapper pattern knives to be issued in commemoration of the Centennial Anniversary of the 1873 Winchester Repeating Rifle. While the main clip blade only bears the stylized Winchester name logo on its tang and etched across its obverse blade surface, there is no indication anywhere else of the exact provenance of this knife. Manufacturer was Edge Mark of Germany, under license to Winchester Olin.By our poor memory, importer was Taylor Cutlery. Overall length closed is 5 1/2 inches, and the blades measure 4 7/16 inches from heel to point. This knife’s detractions consist of light dim pitting on its extended spey blade’s reverse side that affect perhaps 15 percent of that particular surface, less extensive on that one blade’s obverse side. The spey blade has been polished, but the clip pattern blade has not been, and the clip blade only has about 10 percent light etching to its surface. Back spring exterior surfaces also have 10 percent or less dark etchy toning. Mechanism Back spring strength is excellent, both blades resoundingly close on their own from about 35 degrees proximity. This knife is, other than the buffing to the one blade, unused and unsharpened. It has been in the same collection for well over 30 years. This is a very unusual and notable, collectable Winchester Copy. Own it for only $ 69.00.
