Item Description

This listing is for the exact crowbar or pry bar in the photos. Here is a square sided iron crow bar. It came from the previous buildings whose space we now occupy. John McDonald Co. Dry Goods established themselves facing the town depot and railway here in Henderson, Tennessee, in 1883, so read their store front lettering. From their main store building comes this antique pry bar that we discovered, and largely ignored, in 1990. Construction is one piece iron, wrought from square casting stock. Finish is brown rust. We estimate it was manufactured between 1900 and World War I, probably by one of the Iron Works in Chicago, since our little town sits on the Illinois Central Railway. Surface detractions are moderate, principally hammer marks on the curved section and some wear to the point. We rate it as Good Condition, perhaps Very Good. We’re offering it for only $ 49.00.
