Type is locked breech, hammer fired, traditional double and single action semi automatic pistol. Construction is steel slide assembly and parts in an alloy frame. Chambering is .40 S&W; Barrel is ball joint 4 inch, 5 groove 1:18.75. Sights are Novak 3 dot. Trigger is .305 smooth faced, with matching serrated spur hammer, DA 11 pounds & SA 4 pounds. Magazine is original PreBan 11 rounder, and factory mags are the only ones it will accept. Its magazine well is .815 inch width, while many of its mates measure .818 width. Grip is correct straight backed 5900 replacement with no logo, it also has its good condition agency issue Hogues. The 4003 has a firing pin safety, magazine safety, and ambidextrous decocking safety. Weight empty is 30.2 oz; loaded 33 oz. Overall length is 7 3/4”; 5 5/8 height; and 1” frame width.  Finish is matte Stainless slide, coated alloy frame, satin chrome trigger, black melonite sights and hammer. Surface detractions are moderate,  lateral and edge wear to the frame and slide. We rate this pistol as Very Good, 80  percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos should tell.
