Here is an original factory Instructions for Use, Parts List, Maintenance, and specifications manual for the .38 Chiefs Special Revolver, numbered model 36. Manufacturer and printer is Smith & Wesson of Springfield, MA. Construction is a single 11 x 14 sheet folded in hex fashion, down to 3 3/4 by 7 dimensions for placement into a two piece blue box, such as Smith & Wesson Revolvers were shipped in from the 1960s until the 1980s. Printing is black ink on white paper. We estimate this particular manual was printed between 1977 and 1984. Surface detractions are moderate, principally moderate handwritten numeric notes in one corner of one page; and age toning.
