Any time there is any kind of change to Smith & Wesson handguns, even to their boxes and locks like these, a good many of us old grouchy men dislike it immediately. Here are Master brand cable locks that shipped with Smith & Wesson revolvers prior to 2008. Manufacturer / importer is Master Lock of Milwaukee. Back of the package reads, Assembled in Mexico with UAW – produced U.S. and foreign components. Construction is all laminated steel, with polymer coated coiled steel cable shank and polymer lining on the lower body of the lock proper. Each lock includes two numbered keys that will not interchange with other padlocks. Ours do not have suffixes to their model numbers. These have never crossed the Pacific Ocean; they came in a direct route from Massachusetts to Tennessee; and they came from blue or black Smith & Wesson Boxes like the ones in the photos. Every one is sealed in its original press-sealed, white-backed factory package. These locks are period correct for Smith & Wesson Handguns manufactured from the late 1990s until 2007. If your Smith & Wesson has a flat lid blue box, or a solid blue one piece box, these locks are period correct. Each is under a factory warranty.
