L.C. Smith Field Grade Double. 192000 range serial = 1941. Marking: Hunter Arms Co. Inc. M*F*R*S Fulton, NY, USA. left barrel, and < L.C. Smith Ideal Grade > on the right tube. London Steel on both tubes. Entirely steel, with original polymer grip cap, rubber recoil pad, and American walnut stock and forend. Barrels are marked. Chambering is 12 gauge, 2 3/4 inch chambers. Barrel is 28 inches, .686 full choke left and .709 modified right tube. OSD .810 right and .808 left. Solid rib sits .18 inch at midsection. 1960s red polymer front and ivory mid bead. Numbers are all matching. Single .210 smooth Selective Trigger and one piece extractor. Pulls at 3 3/4 pounds. Mechanical transfer, breech cocker. 13 1/8 LOP; 3/4 in 1950s No-Shoc pad with correct black spacer. 1 1/2 x 2 1/4 drop with 3/4 RH cant. Weight 7 lb 3.5 oz. Original fostly blued barrels, polished blued trigger guard; color casehardened forend iron, receiver, levers, and trigger. Original satin finish walnut. Minimal to moderate surface detractions, principally cary wear to forend checkering and its release lever; and to rear portion of trigger guard. Few small mars on stock. one slight dimple on right barrel, 11 1/4 inches back of the muzzle, slightly visible inside bore. We rate this L.C. as Very Good, 80 – 85%, but photos ought to suffice. Pad and sights updated 1960s; otherwise original. Bores, chambers, mechanism all bright & clean. We estimate fewer than 2000 rounds in its Tennessee River Valley domicile.
