Iver Johnson HP18 shotgun. Manufacturer is Armed Silah Av Malzemeleri San. Tic. Ltd. Şti.of Izmir, Republic of Turkey.  Importer and warrantor is Iver Johnson of Rockledge, FL. Gas operated semi automatic shotgun, with Benelli M1 type mechanism. 12 gauge, 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch shells interchangeably. Steel barrel, bolt, magazine, return mechanism and internal parts built into an alloy receiver. Barrel is 18 1/2 inches, Cylinder Bore, with permanent breacher type Muzzle Brake. Sight system is LPA screw on and dovetailed, raised wing protected Red Fiber Optic front with Wing Potected Aperture of Ghost Ring Rear, that incorporates a 7 slot M1913 Picatinny Rail; and that sits atop the dovetailed receiver. Magazine is 5 shot, with removable 2 shot adapter. Capacity, then, is 5 + 1, with similar placement capabilities and operation of the shell carrier to the Beretta parent guns.  Trigger is .265 smooth faced; pulls single stage at 6 pounds with moderate felt creep and overtravel. Safety is set for right handed shooters, triangular push button behind the trigger. Black graphite base stock is two piece pistol grip and buttstock proper. Stock drop is 1 7/8 by 2 5/8 inches, with a 1 inch right hand cast. Length of  pull is 14 1/4 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 1 inch recoil pad. Shims are available from Iver Johnson’s excellent service department.  Forend lowers and lower laterals have Benelli type grooves, as do the wrist or pistol grip area on the buttstock. Note the sling swivels in the buttstock and forend cap. Overall length is 40 1/2 inches, or 30 inches with the pistol grip intact but buttstock removed.  Weight empty is 6 pounds 8 ounces, centered at the breech face. Finish is matte black. Each HP18 comes in its factory box with instruction manual, statement of one year warranty, factory registration card, sling, Owl Head decal, chamber protector, handle protector, and protective papers.
