Imperial 2 Blade Easy Opener Rough Black Jack 1940s Very Good Pen & Clip

Imperial Knife Company of Providence, Rhode Island, and its founders Albert and Henry Bauer gave a century of service to American Civilians, Military, and Law Enforcement with their products until Chinese competition forced them off the market in 2004. It eventually absorbed Schrade Cutlery.  This is a solid handled Imperial, manufactured some time in the 1940s by our estimate. Type is two blade Jack Knife, 3 inches overall length closed. Blades are main clip type 2 1/2 inch; and secondary pen pattern blade, 1 5/8 inches. Construction is carbon steel blades, backsprings and hinge pin, with nickel shield and bolsters, and with brass liners and panel rivets. Handle panels are black composite. Finish is buffed nickel, gray steel, and picked pattern panel surfaces. Surface detractions are moderate, principally blade toning. Blade widths are good, with minimal sharpening wear. Spring strength is somewhat weak on the main blade, but blade alignment are excellent. We classify it as in Very Good Condition, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves.
