Grips S&W K or L Frame Round Butt Revolvers Hogue Monogrip Combat Finger Groove Very Good Condition Smith & Wesson Models 10 13 19 64 65 66 686

Most Smith & Wesson Revolvers manufactured after 1996 have Round Butt Grip Frames. About the only exception are Smith & Wesson’s Classic Series L frames, like the 586 Classic’s square butt grip frame that sometimes shows up in some of our photos. If you aren’t sure which yours is, please see the comparative photo.  Here is Hogue's contribution to the ergonomics of the classic medium frame Smith & Wesson Revolvers, and S&W only recently recognized the contribution by changing from the functional but very ugly Michaels grips to the much more attractive and better handling Hogues. All Smith & Wesson K and L frame revolvers have been round butt grip frame configuration since the mid 1990s, and one reason we keep these fine grips is that we are occasionally lucky enough to get some 2 inch and 2 1/2 inch barreled Department trade ins that need their grips replaced, and these fill the bill very well for shooters of a wide range of hand sizes. For smaller handed shooters these are ideal even for 4 and 6 inch barrel Smith & Wessons. Hogue rubber Monogrips, the factory points out, are molded from a durable synthetic rubber that is not spongy or tacky, but gives that soft recoil-absorbing feel, without affecting accuracy. Photos show three specimens that came from service with the North Carolina Department of Corrections. Surface detractions are minimal to moderate; only scouring on their right panels. We rate them as Very Good, but photos should suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves.
