Exact pistol in photos. This D38 is the descendant of the Remington model 95 Derringer. Manufacturer was F.I.E. of Miami, of Tanfoglio Italian made steel parts in a US made cast zinc alloy frame. L86000 range serial = 1982 production. Type is over and under two shot derringer. Not designed to be carried loaded with the hammer on the D setting; only on the HC / Half Cock. .38 Special Caliber, not designed for +P ammunition. Barrels are 3 inches, with 1 1/2 inch of rifling in each one. Ignition is hammer fired, hammer against rotating sear assembly, on floating firing pins, single action only. Single action trigger pull gauges 7 3/4 pounds. Operation is right side release lever, tip up barrels, and left side ejector piece. Instructions are readily available online and in print. Dimensions are 4 3/4 inches length; 3 1/4 inches height; and .875 inch maximum frame thickness. Weight empty is 13 ounces. Finish is satin chrome, also known as Electroless, popular in the early to mid 1980s. Lever, hammer and trigger are blued, with imitation ivory polymer grips. Surface detractions are minimal, principally faint edge wear.
