From file storage three decades ago comes these factory Marlin Owner’s Manuals for the Model 30AS Lever Action Carbine chambered in .30-30 Winchester caliber. Publisher was Marlin Firearms, 100 Kenna Drive, North Haven, CT. Publication date of January 1993 is printed on the back cover. Contents are 9 pages of black, white, and red print in a 5 3/8 by 8 1/2 Booklet. Note that the factory registration card has been removed from the right half of the front cover. Surface detractions on these manuals are minimal, only faint age toning. We rate them as Excellent Condition. They are correct for birchwood stocked Marlin 30 AS Rifles produced from 1986, when the Marlin engineers first installed the cross receiver hammer block safety device that supplemented the lever safety, until the present. They are correct enough for birchwood stocked Glenfield 30 series rifles without that safety, or for 336 series, the only difference being the stock. 30 AS owners simply wanting instructions can avail themselves of free downloads or videos on the internet. Owners, however, whose rifles date between 1993 and Marlin’s corporate dissolution in 2007, and who lack original documents, will find this manual enhances their prize’s collectability significantly.
