Postwar Japan 1 Blade Miniature Novelty Fob Knife 1 1/2 inch 1950s

            Exact
knife in the photos.
Early postwar Japanese made novelty knife. Tang stamp
reads only the word Japan. Likely from fledgling, recovering manufacturing
capacity 1950 – 1954 on the Island of Hokkaido. Carbon steel blade, encased in
a one piece steel liner / backspring with pin; with pinned on veneer thin
imitation pearl celluloic. No spring propulsion to the closure. Lanyard or fob
loop. Spear pattern blade = 1 1/8 inch; overall length 1 1/2 inches. Blade
surface wear may be from use, or simply part of the early manufacturing process.
Age toning to the handles. We rate this miniature novelty knife as Very Good,
but photos ought to suffice.
