Item Description

This listing is for ONE sheet of 9 replica stamps. Here are restrikes of incipient Confederate States Postage Stamps from an original plate that was intercepted by the Union Army and Navy, and that never made it into the South during the Civil War. This particular block was printed some time in the 1960s by the Ohio Philatelic Society, on the plate owned by the Ohio State Museum. The stamps are correctly machine perforated, probably more on 20th Century style than on 19th Century. Image, of course, is Jefferson Davis, President of the Short Lived Confederacy, on blue ink. Each sheet has 9 stamps, from an original period die. We’re offering each sheet of 9 for only $19.00
