Item Description

This listing is for the exact document in the photos. Here is an original factory Instructions for Use, Parts List, Maintenance, and specifications manual for the Distinguished .357 Combat Magnum Revolver, numbered model 686. Manufacturer and printer is Smith & Wesson of Springfield, MA. Construction is a single 11 x 14 sheet folded in hex fashion, down to 3 3/4 by 7 dimensions for placement into a two piece blue box, such as Smith & Wesson Revolvers were shipped in from the 1960s until the 1980s. Printing is black ink on white paper. This particular manual bears both the PO Box and Street Address of the parent company, clearly includes Bangor Punta, so it was printed between 1980 and 1984. The blue and nickel finished 586 series also get honorable mention in the text of the document, so it will be correct for those early revolvers as well. Surface detractions are minimal, principally age toning. Lucky owners of early model 686 Revolvers who simply want instructions can download or print free from smith-wesson com, or watch videos. Owners, however, of model 686s with serial number prefixes beginning with the letter A, and in excellent condition, will find that this manual enhances its collectability. We’re offering the early 686 manual in the photos for only $53.00.
