Item Description

This listing is for the exact ring in the photos. From a nearby Mississippi Delta Estate comes this distinctive ladies combination ring. Its shank bears the LGL mark of Leer Gem Ltd., a New York Jewelry firm from the 1970s. Construction is 14 Karat Yellow Gold with white gold tips to the laterally mounted diamonds. Center piece is a .377 inch by .305 inch Garnet. It may be a Ruby, but our testing equipment rates it in the Garnet hardness range. That gauges 2 1/2 Carats of Garnet. Center stone is graced by 15 diamonds on each side, 1/2 carat total diamond weight. Total Gem Weight, then, is 3 carats. Ring size is 6 1/2 with good shank thickness and does not appear to have ever been sized. Gross weight is 6.20 grams. By the late 1970s, rings like this one commanded pricesupwards of $500 and have doubled since then.Since jewelry stores normally price their 10 Karat mountings in the $100 to $120 per gram vicinity, and diamonds in $500 to $1000 per carat range, this ring would command a regular price between $689 and $989. We’re offering this estate piece, however, for only $ 339.00. We are pawnbrokers licensed by the State of Tennessee and by the United States Department of Justice since 1968. We do not deal in any new jewelry.
