Exact pistol. Smith & Wesson's original Wonder Nine, the model 59, produced 1970-1981. A474000 range serial = 1978. Locked breech, hammer fired, traditional double and single action semi automatic pistol. Steel barrel, sights, hammer, trigger and internal parts combined with a lightweight alloy frame and alloy full length guide rod. Barrel is 4 inch blued steel with white hood, marked 9mm; and with 5 groove right hand 1:18.75 rifling. Slide is blued steel, polished laterals and matte upper, with serrations forward of the safety lever, and with .928 width at the port. Full length steel guide rod and bushing that mates to barrel and rod. Sights are slide integral serrated ramp front and windage adjustable Lollipop style rear with black blade insert. Frame is lightweight alloy, with grip frame serrated fore, front strap, and aft, mainspring housing or back strap that has integral lanyard loop.  Trigger is .304 smooth faced steel, with matching .265 Serrated Spur Hammer. Magazine is correct original pre-Ban factory 14 rounder. Overall length is 7 1/2 inches, with a height of 5 1/2. Weight empty is 30 1/2 ounces. Left side, right hand shooter, decocking lever safety, as well as a firing pin safety and magazine safety. It will not fire single shot if the magazine is removed. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, 12 pound vicinity; and the single action two stage pull measures only 6 pounds with minimal felt creep. Finish is blued slide assembly with brushed lateral surfaces and matte uppers; and polished surface black anodized alloy frame. Service domicile was Borinquen Air Station jurisdiction, front lines vs. Castro and the Cartels. Minimal wear. We rate as Excellent, 90 – 95%, but photos ought to suffice. We estimate fired fewer than 300 rounds. Grips are period correct, airman installed, Rosewood Mustang Grip Reapers.
