Exact holster and belt in photos. From its long time domicile in Northeast Mississippi comes this vintage belt and holster to fit a smaller frame revolver on a medium frame citizen, perhaps a lawman. Both are completely unmarked, but the tell tale floral pattern, stitching, and suede lining betray their origins among our neighbors to the south, like the ones we used to buy in Reynosa some 60 years ago. Holster is two ply, interior suede stitched to leather outside, with close cord stitching and with exterior leather edge stitching. Belt is similar construction, coloration was a match probably when they were new. Belt length is 44 inches, but clasp wear shows a 36 pant size. Wear is extensive, surface wear, wear to the chrome plated brass buckle, and guard area stitching damage as the too-big S&W M&P .38 accentuates. Holster is designed for Colt Police Positive, D frame revolvers, or similar sized Rossi 68 – 88 series; Smith & Wesson model 34, .22 / .32 Kit Guns, or S&W Models 30, 31, 32, 33, 36, and 37, with 3 to 4 inch barrels. This rig came from a rural estate in Alcorn County, Mississippi, that sits on the sometimes notorious Tennessee State Line. The style was used by frequently deputized volunteers in Mississippi, elected Constables in Tennessee, or even their adversarial distillers in that region, in the 1950s and 1960s.
