1930s
Stainless Cutlery Co. New York City 2 Blade Pen Knife Imit. Pearl Exc

            Exact Knife in photos. Two
blade pen knife with imitation pearl handles. Stainless / Cutlery Co. / New
York City stamped on obverse tang of primary Spear pattern blade; Stainless
Shield stylized logo on its reverse tang. Pen blade’s obverse tang also
stamped, but only the letter C on its reverse, probable indicator of the
manufacturer, Camillus Cutlery from Upstate. Stainless Cutlery Co., then, was a
distribution trade name. Stainless steel blades and backspring; nickel finish
brass liners with bolster flares; brass handle panel pins. 2 inches Spear
blade; 1 7/16 pen blade, down from its original 1 1/2 via sharpening. Celluloid
imitation pearl handles. Bevel sharpened, not flat sharpened, so minimal wear,
principally age toning to the handles. Backspring strength is excellent. We
rate this knife as Excellent, but photos ought to suffice.
