Winchester 12 gauge model 1400 Auto Blue Walnut Winchoke Plain 1972 VG 1 Tube

Exact shotgun.Sweet shooting competitor to the Remington 1100, Winchester 1400. Manufacturer Olin owned Winchester Repeating Arms, New Haven, CT. Introduced 1965; Mark II name dropped after 1972, so this one dates from that year. Gas operated semi auto shotgun. Steel barrel, bolt, magazine, and internal parts in an alloy receiver with alloy trigger group housing. American Walnut stock and forend. 12 gauge 2 3/4” shells only, 2 + 1 capacity. 28 inch barrel with Winchoke factory threaded muzzle, .717 diameter tube is marked Modified. Winchoke, Browning standard Invector, and Mossberg Accu-Choke are all interchangeable. Plain bead sight barrel, with serrated receiver top.Non reversable safety right side in front of the .262 smooth faced trigger that pulls single stage at 7# with minimal felt creep.14” LOP with 3/4” right hand cast; 1 1/2” x 2 3/8” drop. 48 3/4” oal, 7 # 11 oz. Attractive purplish tint salt blued barrel, with black anodized receiver, and semi gloss walnut. Surface detractions are moderate to extensive, principally wear to the barrel finish and scouring to the walnut. We rate this shotgun as Good, perhaps Very Good, but photos ought to suffice. South Florida domicile, we estimate fired fewer than 300 times. C&R eligible due to its age. Add any number of H&R Winchoke tubes only $ 14 each.
